Sunday Scripture 8/18

I thought I this week's post figured out, but this morning sitting on church I heard the verses with a new  meaning, so  I changed the verses for this week.

Psalms 35:9

King James Version (KJV)

And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord: it shall rejoice in his salvation.

Psalms 144:15

King James Version (KJV)

15 Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.

Just thinking about being Joyful and Happy in the ideas of God, this coming week is filing up with commitments and activities that I am looking forward to, but at the same time I crave that quiet time with God where I can be filled with joy knowing that our time together makes the rest of the activities during the week happier occasions.

And on another note, also from this week's lesson. A passage from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy in this week's lesson  really makes me think about what we do to encourage our Godly thoughts. Am I really doing what I need to in order to fill my mind with right ideas?

SH 60:29-9
Soul has infinite resources with which to bless mankind, and happiness would be more readily attained and would be more secure in our keeping, if sought in Soul. Higher enjoyments alone can satisfy the cravings of immortal man. We cannot circumscribe happiness within the limits of personal sense. The senses confer no real enjoyment.
The good in human affections must have ascendancy over the evil and the spiritual over the animal, or happiness will never be won. The attainment of this celestial condition would improve our progeny, diminish crime, and give higher aims to ambition.

Thoughts for the week!
Have a blessed week !

A Bible Study for all age? Yes and we love it

Unionvale Homeschool

Studying God's Word as a family is a huge thing for this Mom, but sometimes finding something that fits that bill is tough, thankfully we received a review item recently that fit the bill perfectly, Bible Study Guide For All Ages.
We received two different levels to review, Beginner and Intermediate. Along with these student pages we also received the following items: Beginner Time Line,  Children's Song CD,  and Bible Book Summary Cards to use with the program.
We decided to go with the Beginner for Nathan as a way to work on some issues we were having with following directions and his need to continue to work on his fine motor skills related to coloring. I am glad I made this decision as the stories are the same in each level just adding more concepts and memory work as the levels progress.

Bible Study Guide For All Ages is a multi -level Bible study program that takes all levels through the Bible at the same pace. The same stories are told at each level which helps with continuity. The boys could have discussions about their lessons even though they were studying at their own levels.
Beginner is intended for ages 3 through Kindergarten
Primary is intended for grades 1 and 2
Beginner Student PagesIntermediate is intended for grades 3 and 4
Advanced is intended for grades 5 and 6

Although  the Beginner set is really intended for younger children I was still very happy with the results with Nathan. We did the lessons together with both boys so the story was more important than what was on the page in front of him. I also left out the detail of what the recommended age was when we opened the box.

The student pages we received contained 25 lessons which retails for $5.95.
The Timeline Cards and Children's Song CD we received coordinate with the level  in the student pages but also engaged both boys even though they were working at different levels.
The songs on the Children's CD were all short but easy to learn and fun to sing along with. Surprisingly my boys actually began singing the songs without the CD as we worked through a few lessons. While they haven't "learned" all the songs yet, they have listened to both CDs repeatedly, almost to the point that I have to put a time limit on these CDs. The 2 disc set retails for $19.95 which is a value considering the number of songs in the set (90 songs)

The Timeline cards which retail for $24.95 contains 34 full color 8 1/2 x 11 picture cards that simplify the Biblical Timeline for younger students and include keywords to help them remember the various stories. We decided to put our cards into a binder and slipped each card into a sheet protector giving us the option on making extra notes with a dry erase pen if we thought of questions or ideas related to the story.

The intermediate Student pages also include 26 lessons and retail for $5.95 a set follow the same stories with just more detail and longer reading/ listening passages. The questions in each lesson are at a 3rd / 4th grade level but still manageable to youngers that may be listening. The coloring is more detailed but also gives room for some creativity. Cameron enjoyed searching the Bible passages for the answers to the questions of his pages and seemed to connect with the stories as well as the Bible Summary Cards.
Bible Book Summary Card SampleThe Bible Summary card set contains one card for each book of the Bible in full color 8 1/2 x 11 size. Again we slid these into sheet protectors and a binder to keep them together and easy to use. Having these in protectors also allowed Cameron to write favorite verse from each book on the sheet protector with Wipe Off Crayons or pencils.

Overall we have really enjoyed this program especially as a summer Bible Study program for the family. It was easy to pull out a lesson sheet for each of the boys and have them work on their page while Mommy read the story after lunch as a low key yet meaningful activity.
I did find out from several of my local friends that this program has been used in a couple of the local churches as well as homeschool families. I love hearing how other families have incorporated this program and the various add on pieces. As a homeschool Mom , I often find myself tweaking a program and then wondering how others are using the same program in their situation.  The Schoolhouse Review Crew reviewed a variety of the Bible Study Guide for All Ages products and share their experiences, you can click on the button below to read their thoughts.

25 Truths makes for a interesting dialogue @25truths

reviewed by Unionvalehome.blogspot.com
Having an open dialogue about simple truths can become an interesting dialogue when you bring the kids into the talk.
Thanks to a recent Schoolhouse Review Crew opportunity, we did just that; in reading and reviewing 25 Truths by Ed Douglas.
Over the years I've read my share of inspirational books that talk about how to be successful and happy,  but they all seemed to missing something key, the scripture to back in up.
I love the 26 chapters, yes I said 26. Each chapter focuses on a new truth with a bonus "plus one" truth.
Some of the highlights to this little treasure:
Truth  #7: Don't hate -instead forgive; sounds simple enough right? How much energy we waste hating things, events, even people in our lives. The obvious scripture quoted at the beginning of this chapter Matthew 18:21-22, think about 70 times 7. Even the discussion questions for this chapter get to the heart of the matter, "What can you do to stop hating and start forgiving?"(pg 40).
Thoughts that came to us while discussing this truth centered around loving each other especially our neighbors and remembering that God loves us all no matter what.

Truth #12: Learn What Brings True Happiness; the summary message from the chapter really nails a lot of what is wrong with society now. "Combining your talents with hard work over  an extended time to accomplish something of significance can help you find happiness"(pg 68)
My boys loved thinking about things they love doing and how that might become their career someday. Nathan  loves fixing things and is already thinking about working in his Daddy's shop; while Cameron wants to design new cars inspired by the old cars. Either way, they are being inspired by things that make them  happy.
The book has a wonderful discussion section at the end of each chapter to ask yourself, your children, your spouse, even a youth group or Bible study. This 150 page paperback book retails for $12.50 on the website
You can also find the book on Twitter.
Here is a wonderful promo video by the author,

I have enjoyed reading these truths to my boys and then having them discuss the questions as well as their own thoughts. They might be a little young for this book as a whole at 7 and 10, but I want them to start seriously thinking about their reputation, their ideals, and how important morality really is to the direction we are going.
I have also been reading this with my husband during a few quiet evenings and discussing with him, where we went wrong in our youth, and how we need to lean on the Scripture to make sure we guide our boys in the right direction.
Have you had an open discussion or dialogue with your family about morality, responsibility, or truths? If you are looking for a starting point to open dialogue this little treasure of book if your ticket. Even if you are having these open discussions with your kids, this book is full on so much love and inspiration that you are bound to find something new to add to your discussions.

I can't wait to read what the rest of the crew thought of this little treasure. You can see what they thought by clicking on the button below.

Sunday Scripture 6/30

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Unionvale Homeschool

John 14: 6, 16
6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life : no man cometh unto the Father , but by me.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter that he may abide with you forever.

James 5:16b
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

The verses at first glance have little connection, but as I struggled with some things this week and studying the lesson this week, I felt comfort no only from the divine Comforter  but also from the knowledge that Christ is The Righteous man that not only prayed for us , but also hears our prayers. We are connected through his knowledge to him. He shared with us all that we need and we can go to him with our struggles.

Christianity Cove Tween a Rock and a Hard Place plus the Lord's Prayer

We received two different products from Christianity Cove  for review with the boys. Christianity Cove provides Sunday School lessons filled with games, activities and real life lessons for a variety of ages.
Tween MinistryThe first product we received for review Tween a Rock and a Hard Place , is designed for 9-12 year olds and helps parents and Church teachers discuss some of the tough topics with tweens. I love the thought on the webpage "Jesus isn't intimidated by tweens and neither should you be". Since I don't have a problem talking to by boys (ages 7 and 10) about issues I was hoping for something a little bit more that I got. While we did find some good discussions born from the e-book we received. I really felt there could have been more to the program. Unfortunately, I can't offer suggestions for what needs to be different as I have simply fallen back on the basics of the Bible to find answers to the majority of questions and issues that have arisen with the boys. While my boys aren't perfect in their behaviour, we have found that a dialogue and a reminder of behavior works the best for the issues. I know that may seem like I live in a bubble and believe me I don't. I have told the boys stories that are real and straightforward about the hard stuff in life.  If you are having trouble talking with your tween (by the way , that label is one that has never sat well with me, I wish I could come up with something different.) about the tougher issues of the world this can be a useful tool for language and activities to open doors. The e-book retails for $29 on the website.
The second book we reviewed, Lord's Prayer Lesson Pack retails for $19.99 and is filled with 14 activities to help your children understand the Lord's Prayer. We used this both our boys although I can see using it with slightly younger students and even older students (age 5-15 I suppose).  We did find several of the activities and discussions useful with the boys although they seems to really do well with copy work and breaking it down line by line.
I taught Sunday School to a variety of ages (3-14) for 4 years where I was always looking for inexpensive activities to teach the foundations of faith and this would have been very useful in that setting. The crafts and activities would really fit well into a Sunday School program. Looking back through my files I actually found some of Mary-Kate Warner's materials  that I used in Sunday School. I could also see these activities be handy in a larger family but with only 2 boys, it took some tweaking to make the activities really work , and as I was tweaking I realized I could show the boys the importance of prayer without the activities but with simple words and reading the surrounding text from the Bible. Again, I'm not saying this isn't a good program, but for us it didn't work out. Both my boys know the Lord's Prayer from simple practise and use each week, saying it in Sunday School and thinking about the meaning as we say it.
Christianity Cove has a variety of programs available online, if you teach Sunday School you are bound to find something useful on their site. The crew reviewed several of her programs and share their thoughts.

See the Light with fun art lessons

It is such a blessing to combine any subject with solid Biblical teaching; it is even a bigger blessing to receive the product as a review.

That said, See the Light has been a huge blessing to Cameron over the past weeks. He is finding a voice in art and hearing a good message from the teachers on the DVD God's Special Surprise.
The DVD is part of the Bible Stories series from See the Light and retails for $14.95. With over 4 hours of content including 3 complete art lessons, music video and story, this DVD packed with a solid message of God's Hope for his people contains more than just art lessons. The lessons are designed for ages 6 and up. My 7 year old struggles with writing skills a bit and isn't a huge art fan so I really selected the program for my 10 year old and this is a story he enjoys and it fits into our history lessons on Ancient Civilizations.

I started out by previewing the DVD and pulling  the art supplies I had on hand. Thankfully all I needed to purchase were the Extreme Colors colored pencils. Since I love anything Crayola I picked up the twistable crayons in the extreme colors as well and a set of cake watercolors to have extra.

When we got started with the viewing and were heading into the third lesson I realized we did not have a single ruler in the house (just a yardstick which wasn't much help), so I put our art lessons on pause to go into town and pick up one missing element.   Cameron's favorite lesson from the DVD was the creative lettering lesson "SURPRISE!" . Not only did he get to practice writing in all capital letters, he was able to pause the DVD when he needed to and really worked hard to put together a page of chiseled letters and a fun stone carving of his name. We are working on creating a "carving" of house rules to go along with our history lesson and things we have learned in these wonderful art lessons.
The boys even want to put a black light in their bedroom so they can hang cool art of the walls and see it in the dark, I love black light so I guess I will be purchasing a couple extra black light bulbs for their clip light.
I also decided to experiment a bit with the boys and art outside. We also purchased a large selection of sidewalk chalk to try sidewalk chalk art using some of the lessons learned with the DVD. It was a lot of fun (wish I remembered to take pictures)   They enjoyed trying some of the techniques from the Hope for a Nation lesson.  By the end of the series of lessons even Nathan showed interest in what we created. Sometimes I just have to let him come to us when we are doing our lessons. Cameron has already asked about doing more See the Light art lessons (guess I know what will be on his wishlist for birthday and Christmas).
Be sure to check out the rest of the Crew and their thoughts on this amazing program!

Sunday Scripture 6/2/13

Bible Lesson
This week there were so many verses from our Bible Lesson that stuck with me, but these two really stayed with me, knowing through Christ we walk as children of light rather than darkness and have the armor of God to get us through our trials and daily dealings is such a powerful thing.
Raising two boys with the armor of God is one of the hardest things , keeping them on the right path seems to be a never ending battle.
At a recent graduation ceremony the speaker gave the graduates a piece of advicse to be cautions of what they listen to or watch as once you see it or hear it you will always have that with you. That bit of advise stuck with me and has been eating at me since. I am really feeling like I need to take away the TV except for school (we watch Artzooka and  Taste Buds on QUBO during lunch). The shows the boys have latched onto are really a struggle of morality and our values. During the summer it should be easier to remove the TV for most evenings. I pray I can stand strong in the decision. It also means I must be more involved in their afternoon and evening activities.

Ephesians 5:8-11

King James Version (KJV)
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Ephesians 6:13-18

King James Version (KJV)
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Hall of Doors Book 1 plus Unit Study from Progeny Press

 photo 26018_10150154187290243_4120345_n_zpsd9393f12.jpg
I am always looking for interesting age appropriate stories for Cameron to read that can be worked into school activities. When I was given the opportunity to review a book and unity study from Progeny Press I saw a door opening for Cameron..
Progeny Press is not an unfamiliar company to us. We actually used the Progeny Press Unit Study for, The Hobbit (although modified) a couple of years ago. and really enjoyed it.
Using Progeny Press, the students will need access to a dictionary, a thesaurus  and Bible (we used KJV although NIV is recommended), some internet access can be very useful , and a copy of the book being studied.

photo a64738413877400fd8b0a_m_zpse5772579.jpgWe started out by reading aloud the Hall of Doors: Dragon's Hoard by Rebecca Gilleland. The book is graded at a 2nd -4th grade level which was a perfect fit for both boys. I read the first 3 chapters to them on a short road trip. Cameron read the rest of the chapters.  Each chapter is short enough to hold their attention , but detailed enough to move the story along. Illustrations by Mary Duban add hints of the story but are not distracting to the reader. Each chapter is 5-6 pages plus an illustration with a nice easy to read font. (That has been an issue for Cameron lately)
The story focuses on 2 siblings and their journey through the first door in a mysterious hall of doors inside their barn. They encounter talking crows, a dragon, elves, and larger spiders along their journey, a story in a book with clues they must follow. The clues within the story help them in their own journey to follow the true King.
The Biblical message in the story is subtle and not pounded on which makes the story almost like a C.S.Lewis Narnia story.
The paperback book retails $6.99

The interactive pdf unit study guide is engaging and can be done as we did without ever printing anything. Cameron worked through the pages for each chapter typing his answers. Once he was finished with the various activities he would print those pages as a new pdf file and send them to me via email. He was able to practice more skills than just a standard literature study; typing, saving, printing, and emailing in addition to his comprehension, sentence, grammar , etc.. skills.
photo a6473ab137a9e7725ad14_m_zps8a9801cb.jpgThe Study Guide is available for $15.99 as a download or CD and $16.99 as a printed booklet. We received the download and are already planning on having Nathan work through the study guide later this year since we made the decision to let Cameron work through this product on his own.
The boys are already looking forward to more of the Hall of Doors books and possible unit studies over the next year or so. I love that they are excited about a series of books that have a strong Christian Worldview, even with the magic/make believe elements.
The books and the coordinating study guides are a worth the cost. The books stand on their own, and when the study guides are added you get the additional educational benefits of a literature based study guide. You don't have to take my word for it, you can read more Schoolhouse Review Crew opinions by clicking on the button below.

100 Bible Verses in 2013 week 4

100 Bible Verses in 2013

Here we are at week 4 already! I'm including some extra images this week thanks to Marcy from BenandMe
This journey is based on the book 100 Bible Verses Everyone Should Know' by Robert J. Morgan in 2013.
This week's verses are both from Romans

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 10:9

King James Version (KJV)
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

I love how Marcy is keeping it simple with index cards and colored pens to write the verses.

Hope you have a great week.

100 Verses in 2013 Week 3

Week 3
This week's theme is the plan for salvation which worked well with a review I wrote for The Old Schoolhouse Website.

Romans 3:23

King James Version (KJV)
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23

King James Version (KJV)
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

As the boys and I study together we are blessed to know that Christ overcame death and sin on the cross for all of us.

100 Bible Verses in a year? Sure why not! Week 1

100 Bible Verses in 2013

I have joined with a wonderful group on ladies to memorize 100 Bible verses in 2013. The idea is based on 100 Bible Verses Everyone Should Know' by Robert J. Morgan in 2013. where each week for 50 weeks we will memorize 2 verses.
.

Week 1's verses are:
Genesis 1:1  and John 1: 1

Genesis 1:1

King James Version (KJV)
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

John 1:1

King James Version (KJV)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

I am writing mine on 3 x 5 cards although I have a preprinted pdf file I downloaded where the verses are already printed. I think writing it down will help me memorize it. I will also be having the boys memorize at least 1 of the verses each week with me.

Scripture Sunday 12/24

We had an all day family Christmas yesterday so I am posting Scripture Sunday on Monday.
Praying you have a Blessed Christmas with Family and Friends.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

In light of recent events this passage seemed so perfect. The prophecy of his birth and his ultimate power over our world spoke to my heart.
I pray my boys will grow to understand that which he is called.
Wonderful
Counselor
Almighty God
Everlasting Father
Prince of Peace

Knowing that the government will be on HIS shoulders, the earthly government isn't the government the verse is reffing to , but the government of the spiritual. The peace is that of knowing and being at- one with God.
Knowing that God is in control of this world and our spiritual world makes my heart lighter.

Hanukkah, Christmas, Fruit of the Spirit, Joy

I meant to post this last night for you, but here is the third installment of our Lesson for the Hanukkah season with our focus on the Fruit of the Spirit and the Light of Christ Jesus.

Section III
Joy

The Bible

Psalms 51: 8-12
8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Matthew 2: 10,11
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Isaiah 52 : 9.10
9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
10The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
Phil 2:2
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Phil 4:1-4
1 Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
2I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
3And I entreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
4Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Section III

Science & Health

304:9
This is the doctrine of Christian
Science: that divine Love cannot be deprived of its
manifestation, or object; that joy cannot be turned into
12 sorrow, for sorrow is not the master of joy; that good can
never produce evil; that matter can never produce mind
nor life result in death.

The perfect man — governed
15 by God, his perfect Principle — is sinless and eternal.

76:22
The sinless joy, — the perfect harmony and immortality
of Life, possessing unlimited divine beauty and goodness

24 without a single bodily pleasure or pain, —
constitutes the only veritable, indestructible
man, whose being is spiritual.

This state of existence
27 is scientific and intact, — a perfection discernible only
by those who have the final understanding of Christ in
divine Science.

Death can never hasten this state of
30 existence, for death must be overcome, not submitted to,
before immortality appears.
359 :22
In childhood, she often listened
with joy to these words, falling from the lips of her
24 saintly mother, "God is able to raise you up from sick
ness;" and she pondered the meaning of that Scripture
she so often quotes: "And these signs shall follow them
27 that believe; . . . they shall lay hands on the sick,
and they shall recover."

Hanukkak, Christmas, Fruit of the Spirit Peace

Today's focus is Peace.
Again I am using the King Jame's Version of the Bible unless noted along with citations from the Christian Science textbook Science and Health with Keys to the Scripture by Mary Baker Eddy.

Feel free to share your thoughts on Peace and the Prince of Peace as we love to hear from readers.

Section II
Peace

The Bible

Isaiah 54:13
13 And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

II Thessilonians 3:6
Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

I Corinthians 1:3
Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 14:33
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Isaiah 9:6,7
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 52:7
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Section II
Science & Health

45:16
Glory be to God, and peace to the struggling hearts!

Christ hath rolled away the stone from the door of hu

18 man hope and faith, and through the reve

lation and demonstration of life in God, hath
elevated them to possible at-one-ment with the spiritual
21idea of man and his divine Principle, Love.

506: 8-14

Genesis i. 8. And God called the firmament Heaven.
9   And the evening and the morning were the second day.

Through divine Science, Spirit, God, unites under
standing to eternal harmony.

The calm and exalted
12 thought or spiritual apprehension is at peace.

Thus the dawn of ideas goes on, forming each
successive stage of progress.

52:13
Despised and rejected of men," was Isaiah's
graphic word concerning the coming Prince of Peace.

15
Herod and Pilate laid aside old feuds in order to unite
in putting to shame and death the best man that ever
trod the globe.

To-day, as of old, error and evil again
18make common cause against the exponents of truth.

The "man of sorrows" best understood the nothing
ness of material life and intelligence and the mighty ac

21  tuality
 of all-inclusive God, good.

These were the two cardinal points of Mind-healing, or
Christian Science, which armed him with Love. The high

24  est earthly representative of God, speaking of human
ability to reflect divine power, prophetically said to his
disciples, speaking not for their day only but for all time:
27"He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do
also;" and "These signs shall follow them that believe."

59:11

Fulfilling the
